Paralysis is Going to Kill You
We are all in SH%T times right now.
That’s why I’m perplexed why companies are making the decision to cut areas that help them grow. The thought seems to be “Sales not great? Let’s cut sales reps.”
WRONG. You need MORE sales reps.
How about the notion that you need to cut back marketing costs. Are you serious? You need to market harder than you ever needed to before; that is, if you REALLY have a competitive advantage. (An article every CEO should read after this post.)
Your competitors are scared. So are you. But the difference is, do you freeze and wait or do you capitalize. Warren Buffett did say to “be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.” He’s a smart man, maybe you should listen to him.
If there was an opportunity to raise the quality of your staff, it is now. Top grading is possible right now, so upgrade your team and keep hiring; the impact will be massive.
Of course this crappy economic situation will end and when it does you want to be ahead with the quality of people you have.
BE GREEDY! Don’t feel bad about, your company will be better for it.
